Manuel Piñero Sánchez (born 1 September 1952) is a professional golfer from Spain. He is known for his successful career on the European Tour and for representing Europe in the Ryder Cup.

Early Life
Manuel Piñero was born in Badajoz, a city in Spain.
A Career in Golf
Manuel Piñero became a professional golfer in 1968. He quickly became a well-known player on the European Tour in the early 1970s. He won nine important tournaments on this tour. One of his biggest wins was the 1977 British PGA Championship. He often finished in the top ten players on the European Tour's money list, even reaching fourth place in both 1976 and 1977.
Playing for Europe
Piñero was a key player for Europe in two Ryder Cup tournaments. The Ryder Cup is a famous team competition between golfers from Europe and the United States.
In the 1981 Ryder Cup, he won his singles match against American golfer Jerry Pate. In 1985, he had an amazing performance, earning four points for his team. This helped Europe win the trophy against the United States for the first time since 1957. He defeated Lanny Wadkins in his singles match that year.
Piñero also represented Spain nine times in the World Cup of Golf. This is another team competition where two players from each country compete. He helped Spain win the team title twice, in 1976 and 1982. In 1982, he also won the individual title, meaning he was the best player in the tournament by himself.
After turning 50 in 2002, Piñero started playing on the European Seniors Tour.
