Keith MarQuez Haynes (born December 19, 1986) is an American-Georgian professional basketball player. He plays for Paris Basketball in France. MarQuez is also a citizen of Georgia, a country in Europe. He even played for the senior men's Georgian national team in a big tournament called EuroBasket 2011.

Playing College Basketball
Before becoming a professional player, MarQuez played college basketball in the United States. He is from Irving, Texas. He started playing for the Boston College Eagles from 2005 to 2007. Later, he played for the Texas–Arlington Mavericks from 2008 to 2010. Playing in college helps young athletes get ready for a professional career.
Becoming a Pro Basketball Player
After college, MarQuez was not chosen in the 2010 NBA draft. This is how many players join the top basketball league in the U.S. Instead, he decided to play professionally in Europe.
He first signed with Élan Chalon in France in 2010. After that, he played for many different teams across Europe:
- He played for Gran Canaria in Spain from 2011 to 2012.
- Then he joined Artland Dragons in Germany from 2012 to 2013.
- In Italy, he played for Olimpia Milano and Montepaschi Siena.
- From 2014 to 2015, he played for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.
- He returned to Italy to play for Dinamo Sassari from 2015 to 2016.
- In 2016, he played for Panathinaikos in Greece.
- From 2016 to 2019, he played for Umana Reyer Venezia in Italy. While with Reyer, his team won the FIBA Europe Cup championship in 2018. This is an important European basketball competition.
- Since 2020, he has been playing for Paris in France.
Playing for His Country
MarQuez Haynes has also played for the Georgian national basketball team. He is a naturalized citizen of Georgia, meaning he became a citizen even though he wasn't born there. He played for Georgia in the EuroBasket 2011 tournament. In that tournament, he averaged 8 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 0.9 blocks per game.
