Mara Virgínia Manzan (28 May 1952 – 13 November 2009) was a Brazilian actress. She was born in São Paulo and became famous for her many roles in TV shows and movies. Mara started her acting journey at a young age and continued to entertain audiences throughout her life.

How Mara Manzan Started Acting
When Mara was 17, she was living and studying in São Paulo. She visited a famous theater called Teatro Oficina. She often joked that once she went there, she never left! Mara first worked behind the scenes, helping with different tasks. One day, she got a big chance to act in a play because another actress was sick. This was her start on stage.

Later Life and Health
In March 2008, while acting as "Amara" in the TV show Duas Caras, Mara discovered she had lung cancer. She had surgery on 16 April that year. Before this, she had also faced another type of cancer and had undergone a major surgery. Sadly, her health got worse, and Mara Manzan passed away at the age of 57 due to lung problems.
