Marale is a small town and a municipality in the Francisco Morazán department of Honduras. It's a place with a rich history and a strong community spirit. About 9,170 people lived there in 2015.

Where is Marale Located?

Marale is surrounded by beautiful hills and other towns. To the north, you'll find Yoro. To the south are El Porvenir and San Ignacio. On the east side, it borders Mangulile, Yocón, and Orica. To the west, it's next to Sulaco, Yorito, and San José del Potrero.

The town itself is nestled among several hill ranges. These include El Portillo, La Loma de la Cruz, and Mud Loma.

Marale's History

Marale was first established a long time ago, in 1820. This means it has been a community for over 200 years! Later, in 1889, it officially became one of the municipalities within the Cedros District. A municipality is like a local government area.
