Marble Creek Glacier is a cool glacier found in North Cascades National Park. This park is located in the state of Washington in the United States. A glacier is like a very slow-moving river of ice.

Marble Creek Glacier is where a stream called Marble Creek begins. This creek then flows into the larger Cascade River.

About Marble Creek Glacier

This glacier is nestled among some tall mountains. It is northwest of a peak called Dorado Needle. It is also about 1.2 miles (1.9 km) northwest of Eldorado Peak.

Size and Location

Marble Creek Glacier is not the biggest glacier around. To its east, you can find much larger glaciers. These include the Inspiration Glacier and the McAllister Glacier.

The glacier stretches from about 8,000 feet (2,400 meters) down to 7,000 feet (2,100 meters) in elevation. This means it covers a good portion of the mountainside.

What's Happening to the Glacier?

Like many glaciers around the world, Marble Creek Glacier is currently getting smaller. Scientists call this "retreating." This means the ice is melting faster than new snow can turn into ice.
