Marc Angelucci (born March 30, 1968 – died July 11, 2020) was an American attorney. He was known for working to help men with legal issues, especially as a leader in the National Coalition for Men (NCFM). As a lawyer, he took on several important cases. One of his most famous cases was about the Selective Service System, where a judge agreed that only requiring men to register was unfair. Marc Angelucci was sadly found murdered at his home in 2020.

About Marc Angelucci

Marc Angelucci finished high school at Eagle Rock High School in Los Angeles in 1986. He then went to UCLA School of Law. He became a lawyer in California in 2000.

Marc Angelucci said he joined the National Coalition for Men (NCFM) while he was in law school. This happened after a friend of his, who was a man, experienced domestic violence but couldn't get help. In 2001, he started the Los Angeles part of the NCFM. He also had a brother who had autism.

In 2008, Marc Angelucci won an important case called Woods v. Horton. A court in California decided that the state government had unfairly left men out of programs that help victims of domestic violence. This ruling meant that these programs had to include men too.

Fighting for Fairness in the Draft

In 2013, Marc Angelucci and the NCFM sued the Selective Service System. This system is what the U.S. government uses to keep a list of people who might be called to serve in the military if there's an emergency (this is called the "draft"). At the time, only men had to register for the draft.

Angelucci argued that it was unfair to only make men register. In February 2019, a judge agreed with him. The judge said that since women now serve in all kinds of military roles, there was no longer a good reason to exclude them from registering for the draft. However, a higher court later disagreed, saying that an older Supreme Court decision still applied.

Marc Angelucci also appeared in a 2016 movie called The Red Pill. This movie talked about the men's rights movement and the issues they focus on.

His Death

On July 11, 2020, Marc Angelucci was shot and killed at his home in Cedarpines Park, California. A person pretending to be a delivery driver came to his door. When Marc Angelucci came out to sign for a package, he was shot. The shooter then quickly drove away. Paramedics arrived, but Marc Angelucci was already gone.

The FBI looked into his murder. They thought it might be connected to another shooting that happened eight days later in New Jersey. In that attack, the shooter also pretended to be a delivery person. Investigators found that the suspect in the New Jersey shooting, Roy Den Hollander, had taken his own life. Papers found in his car mentioned Marc Angelucci. It was believed that Den Hollander had a disagreement with a judge and was upset that Marc Angelucci's similar case had been decided first.
