Playing for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Young then signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2011. This team is in the Canadian Football League (CFL). In his first season, he started all 18 games. He made 51 total tackles.

His second season was shorter. He only played in five games. He broke his hand during Week 2. This injury put him on the nine-game injured list.

Years with the Edmonton Eskimos

On February 15, 2013, Young joined the Edmonton Eskimos. In his first season with the Eskimos, he started 17 games. He started 15 games in his 2014 season. He recorded 43 tackles in each of those seasons.

He also played in two playoff games in 2014. The Eskimos re-signed him on December 12, 2014. He continued to be a key player for the Eskimos' defense. He earned another contract extension in 2017.

In the 2017 season, Young was placed on the injured list early. He only played in seven games that year. He made 16 tackles. The Eskimos released him on March 29, 2018.

Joining the BC Lions

On April 11, 2018, Young signed with the BC Lions. During the Lions' first game of the season, he became well-known for something unusual. He tackled a "streaker" on the BC Place field. The person had been running on the field for a while. This was delaying the game. Stadium security seemed slow to act. That's when Young stepped in and stopped the person.
