College Football Career
Greene started his college football journey in 1977. He played for the Cincinnati Bearcats at the University of Cincinnati.
Later, from 1979 to 1980, he moved to play for the Arizona Wildcats. They are the team from the University of Arizona. During his time there, he was named Second-team All-Pac-10 twice. This means he was one of the best players in his conference.
Professional Football Journey
The Los Angeles Rams chose Marcellus Greene in the 1981 NFL draft. He was the 296th player picked that year.
Playing in Canada
In 1981, Greene played in thirteen games for the Toronto Argonauts. This team is part of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The next year, 1982, he played sixteen games for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
He returned to the Toronto Argonauts in 1983. That year, he played in twelve games. He also helped the Argonauts win the Grey Cup in 1983, which is like the Super Bowl for Canadian football!
