Marcus Timmons (born November 3, 1971) is a former professional basketball player. He is American-Australian. Marcus played for several teams in Australia and New Zealand. These teams included the Wollongong Hawks and Melbourne Tigers. He also played for the Perth Wildcats and Cairns Taipans. Later, he joined the New Zealand Breakers and Adelaide 36ers.
Marcus Timmons helped his teams win two NBL championships. He won with the Melbourne Tigers in 1997. He also won with the Perth Wildcats in 2000. He is the uncle of NBA player Otto Porter Jr..

Early Life and College Basketball
Marcus Timmons grew up in Sikeston, Missouri. He played high school basketball at Scott County Central High School. In 1991, he was named Mr. Show-Me Basketball. This award goes to the best high school player in Missouri.
After high school, Marcus played college basketball for Southern Illinois University. He was part of the Southern Illinois Salukis team. They played in the NCAA Tournament three times. They also played in the NIT once. In 1995, he was named the Defensive Player of the Year in the Missouri Valley Conference. Marcus was honored in 2013 by being named to the SIU All-Century team. He is also a member of the SIU Saluki Hall of Fame.

NBL Championships
Marcus won two NBL championships during his career.
- In 1997, he won his first championship with the Melbourne Tigers.

Besides playing in Australia and New Zealand, Marcus also played basketball in other countries. He played professionally in the Philippines, Poland, and Latvia. He won a championship in Latvia with the team ASK/Brocēni/LMT in the Latvian Basketball League.
