The Margaret Corbin Monument is a special memorial. It honors Margaret Corbin, a brave woman who was a heroine during the American Revolution. This monument is located at the United States Military Academy West Point Cemetery in New York.
Margaret Corbin was born on November 12, 1751, and passed away on January 16, 1800. She died in Highland Falls, New York, and was first buried near the Hudson River.
In 1926, some remains were found that people thought belonged to Margaret Corbin. These remains were then reburied near the entrance of the West Point Cemetery. This reburial was done by a group called the Daughters of the American Revolution. However, a study in 2017 showed that these remains were actually from an unknown man. So, no one knows exactly where Margaret Corbin's remains are today.
