Margaretting is a small village in Essex, England. It is also a civil parish, which is a local area with its own council. In 2011, about 847 people lived there. Margaretting is located in the Chelmsford district. It sits on the B1002 road. The village is about four miles from Chelmsford, which is the main town of Essex. It is also two miles from Ingatestone. The River Wid flows nearby.

Margaretting has a few important places for its residents. St Margaret's Church is a very old building. It was built in the 15th century, which means it is over 500 years old! The church is about a mile from the main part of the village.
The village also has its own primary school. This is where younger children in Margaretting go to learn. There is a village hall too, located on Wantz Road. Next to the hall is a playing field. Local football games are often played here.
For places to eat and drink, Margaretting has two public houses. These are like local restaurants or pubs. They are called the Black Bull and the Red Lion. There used to be a third one, the Spread Eagle, but it closed after a fire.
