Margarita Ivonne "Wonny" Geuer Draeger, born on May 3, 1966, is a famous former basketball player from Spain. She played for the Spanish national team from 1985 to 1993. Wonny won a gold medal at the European Championship in 1993. At the club level, she won the FIBA European Champions Cup in 1993. She also won four Liga Femenina titles.

Wonny's Club Basketball Journey

Wonny Geuer started playing basketball when she was 14 years old. She played for teams like Irlandesas de Bamí and Medicina Oximper in her hometown of Seville.

Starting Her Professional Career

At 17, Wonny began her professional career with Real Canoe NC. With this team, she won three Liga Femenina titles in a row. These wins happened from 1984 to 1986.

Playing for CD Xuncas and BEX Banco Exterior

After Real Canoe, Wonny played for CD Xuncas in Lugo for two years. During this time, her team was second in the league in 1987. They also reached the finals of the Copa de la Reina in 1987 and 1988.

Next, she spent four years with the BEX Banco Exterior team. This team brought together many of Spain's best players. They were preparing to compete in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

Winning Big with Dorna Godella

Wonny's last year as a professional player was with Dorna Godella. In September 1992, her team won the FIBA Club World Cup in Brazil. In 1993, they also won the Liga Femenina and the FIBA European Champions Cup.
