The Story of Ros Casares Godella
The club started in 1996 as Popular Bàsquet Godella. It was a local team with big dreams.
Becoming Ros Casares Valencia
In 1998, a building company called Ros Casares bought the team. This was a big step! The team's name changed to Ros Casares Valencia. In 2001, they won their first major league title.
Winning National and European Titles
After their first league win, the team kept getting better. In 2002, they won the national cup, called the Copa de la Reina. They also played in the EuroLeague for the first time. This is the biggest basketball competition for women's clubs in Europe.
The team became one of the best in Spain and Europe. They often played against strong teams like UB Barcelona. After 2007, Ros Casares had a "golden era." They won the Spanish league and cup four times in a row! They also reached the EuroLeague finals twice, but lost to Spartak Moscow Region.
The Big EuroLeague Win
The 2010–11 season was tough, and they lost some national titles. But the team worked hard and got stronger. In 2012, they finally won the EuroLeague! They beat many top teams, including UMMC Ekaterinburg and Rivas Ecópolis, to become champions of Europe.
Joining Valencia Basket
Just two months after their huge EuroLeague win, the club announced they might stop playing. But they kept going in smaller leagues. In May 2014, Ros Casares made a special agreement. All their teams joined Valencia Basket, another big club in Spain. This meant the legacy of Ros Casares continued as part of Valencia Basket's women's team.
