Margo Lainne Greenwood (born September 2, 1953) is an important Canadian leader. She is a senator and an expert on Indigenous children. A senator helps make laws for the country. She is known for her work in early childhood care and education for Indigenous children.

Margo Greenwood was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada. She became an orphan when she was 16 years old. She studied a lot to become an expert.

She earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Alberta. Then she got a Master's degree from the University of Victoria. Finally, she completed her PhD at the University of British Columbia in 2008.

Dr. Greenwood has received many special awards for her work. In 2002, she got the Queen's Golden Jubilee Award. In 2011, she received a National Aboriginal Achievement Award.

In 2021, she was named an Officer of the Order of Canada. This award recognized her as a professor of early childhood education. It also honored her leadership in Indigenous health policy.

On November 10, 2022, Margo Greenwood was chosen to join the Senate of Canada. She represents British Columbia. The Senate is a part of Canada's Parliament. Senators review and approve laws.
