Margo Lainne Greenwood (born September 2, 1953) is an important Canadian leader. She is a senator and an Indigenous scholar. This means she is an expert in the history and cultures of Indigenous peoples. She focuses on how to best care for and educate Indigenous children.

Who is Margo Greenwood?
Margo Greenwood was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada. She became an orphan when she was 16 years old. Despite this challenge, she worked hard to get a great education.
Her Journey in Education
Margo Greenwood earned several degrees from different universities.
- She completed a Bachelor's of Education (BEd) at the University of Alberta.
- She then earned a master's degree from the University of Victoria.
- In 2008, she completed her PhD at the University of British Columbia.
Helping Indigenous Children
Margo Greenwood is a professor at the University of Northern British Columbia. She teaches in programs about First Nations Studies and Education. She is also the Academic Leader of the National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health. This center works to improve the health of Indigenous people. Her work helps make sure Indigenous children get the best start in life.
