Marjorie Bailey (born November 21, 1947) is a famous Canadian sprinter. A sprinter is an athlete who runs very fast over short distances. She competed in many big races around the world, winning several medals.

Marjorie Bailey's Athletic Career
Marjorie Bailey showed great talent in sprinting. She competed in major international events. These included the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, and Pan American Games.
Competing at the Olympics
Marjorie Bailey competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics held in Montreal, Canada. She ran in two individual races: the women's 100 metres and the 200 metres. She reached the semi-final round in both events.
She was also part of the Canadian team for the 4 x 100 metre relay. She ran the last part of the race, called the anchor leg. Her team finished fourth and set a new Canadian and Commonwealth record with a time of 43.17 seconds.
Commonwealth Games Achievements
Marjorie Bailey won a silver medal at the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, Canada. This medal was for the 4 x 100 metres relay race.
She also competed in the 1974 British Commonwealth Games. There, she finished fourth in the 200 metres race. She also placed sixth in the 100 metres race.
