Mark R. Beech (born in 1959, died on April 24, 2020) was a British writer, journalist, and broadcaster. He was famous for his books about how rock music bands and stars got their names. Mark also wrote many articles about music and art. He was the editor of DANTE magazine and lived in London.

Mark R. Beech was born in Birmingham, England. He went to school in Shrewsbury and Evesham. Later, he studied at Oxford University. He earned a master's degree in 1985.
Mark R. Beech's Journalism Career
Mark R. Beech began his career as a newspaper reporter. He worked for local papers like Heart of England Newspapers. He also wrote for the Birmingham Daily News. Later, he joined bigger news companies. These included The Sunday Times and Independent Television News (ITN). In 1996, he started working for Bloomberg.
As a rock music critic for Bloomberg Muse, Mark wrote a weekly column. This column appeared on the Bloomberg terminal and in BusinessWeek. It was also shared with over 440 newspapers and magazines worldwide. He was one of the first to review big concerts. He wrote about the Led Zeppelin reunion concert in London in 2007. He also reviewed the first Rolling Stones show at the same place in 2012. Mark interviewed many famous musicians. Some of them were Sting, Steve Miller, and Adam Ant. In 2014, a collection of his articles was published. It was called All You Need Is Rock.
