Mark Anthony Jones, born on April 10, 1961, is a retired American professional basketball player. He was a point guard, which is a player who usually leads the team's offense and handles the ball. Mark Jones played college basketball at St. Bonaventure University. After college, he was chosen by the New York Knicks in the 1983 NBA draft. He played six games in the NBA for the New Jersey Nets during the 1983–84 season.

Playing College Basketball
Mark Jones played basketball for four seasons at St. Bonaventure University. During his time there, he scored an average of 15.2 points per game.
College Achievements
In 1982, he was named to the All-Eastern Athletic Association first team. This means he was one of the best players in his college conference. The next year, in 1983, he made the second team after the conference changed its name to the Atlantic 10 Conference. Mark Jones is still one of the top ten highest scorers in St. Bonaventure history.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Mark Jones was picked by the New York Knicks in the 1983 NBA draft. He was the 82nd player chosen overall. However, he did not play for the Knicks.
Playing in the NBA
A few weeks later, Jones signed with the New Jersey Nets. He played in six games for the Nets and scored 7 points.
Playing in the CBA
After his time with the Nets, Jones played for the Albany Patroons in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He played in 29 games for the Patroons that season. He averaged 10.8 points per game. His coach at the Patroons was Phil Jackson, who later became a very famous NBA coach. The Albany Patroons won the CBA championship that year.
