Playing for the Stars
After his first year, Riddle stayed with the St. Louis Stars team for four more seasons. The team changed names a few times, playing as the Indianapolis ABCs, then the St. Louis Stars again, and finally the New Orleans–St. Louis Stars. He played with them from 1938 to 1941.
All-Star Recognition
Marshall Riddle was a talented player, and his skills were noticed. He was chosen to play in the East-West All-Star Game twice. This special game featured the best players from the Negro leagues, similar to today's Major League Baseball All-Star Game. He played in this exciting game in both 1939 and 1940. In 1940, he was also the batting champion for the Negro American League, meaning he had the highest batting average that season.
Final Seasons
Riddle's last season in the Negro leagues was in 1943. He played for the Cleveland Buckeyes that year. After his time in the Negro leagues, he also played for the Trois-Rivières Royals in the Provincial League in 1951.
