Marty Murray (born February 16, 1975) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played as a centre for eight seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for teams like the Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers, Carolina Hurricanes, and Los Angeles Kings.
Today, Marty is the general manager and head coach for the Brandon Wheat Kings. This team plays in the Western Hockey League. Before that, he was also the general manager and head coach for the Sioux Falls Stampede.

Marty Murray's Hockey Journey
Starting His Career and Joining the NHL
Marty Murray was chosen by the Calgary Flames in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 96th player picked overall. He joined the Flames team in 1995. For three seasons, he played for both the Calgary Flames and their minor league team, the Saint John Flames, in the AHL. He played 19 games in the NHL during this time.
Playing in Europe and Returning to the NHL
After his first time with the Flames, Marty went to play hockey in Europe. In 1998, he played in the Austrian Hockey League for VSV EC. Then, he moved to Germany to play for the Kölner Haie in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
Marty came back to Calgary in 2000. He played only seven games for the Flames that season. Most of his time was spent with the Saint John Flames.
In 2001, Marty signed with the Philadelphia Flyers. He got much more playing time with this team, playing almost two full seasons. In 2003, he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes and played there for one season.
Later Career and Coaching
After the big NHL lockout in 2004-2005, Marty went back to Germany. He played one season for the Hannover Scorpions. Then, he signed with the Philadelphia Flyers again. However, he mostly played for their AHL team, the Philadelphia Phantoms.
Later, the Los Angeles Kings picked him up. He split his time between the Kings and their AHL team, the Manchester Monarchs. In 2007, Marty signed with HC Lugano in Switzerland. The next year, he rejoined the Monarchs for one season. After that, he signed with the Manitoba Moose in 2009. His playing career ended in 2010.
