Marvin Crenshaw was born on February 3, 1952. He is a former American football player. He played as an offensive tackle, a position where players block for their teammates. Marvin played college football at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. In 1974, he was recognized as a consensus All-American, meaning many different groups agreed he was one of the best college players. The Pittsburgh Steelers picked him in the 1975 NFL draft.

Marvin Crenshaw's Early Life and College Football
Marvin Crenshaw was born in Toledo, Ohio. He went to Woodward High School in Toledo. There, he was a star in both football and basketball. He was named "All-City" for being one of the best athletes in the city. He also earned "All-City Academic" honors for his good grades.
Playing for the Nebraska Cornhuskers
From 1971 to 1974, Marvin played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He was a "letterman" for three years, from 1972 to 1974. This means he played well enough to earn a special award, often a letter "N" for Nebraska, to wear on his jacket.
In 1974, Marvin was named a consensus All-American. This is a big honor for college football players. He was also chosen for the first-team All-Big Eight. The Big Eight was a group of colleges that played against each other in sports. In 2003, Marvin Crenshaw was honored by being added to the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame.
Marvin Crenshaw's Professional Football Journey
In 1975, the Pittsburgh Steelers chose Marvin Crenshaw in the NFL draft. This is when professional teams pick new players from college. He was the 156th player picked overall. However, after a disagreement about his contract, the Steelers released him on July 25, 1975.
Playing for Other Teams
After leaving the Steelers, the New York Jets picked up Marvin. But he was released by the Jets on August 12, 1975.
In 1976, Marvin signed with the Toronto Argonauts. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL), which is similar to the NFL but in Canada. He was later released by the Argonauts.
Later in 1976, Marvin Crenshaw signed with the Los Angeles Rams. However, he was released by the Rams on August 3, 1976.
