Maryland Line is a small community in Baltimore County, Maryland. It is located in the United States. This area is not a city with its own government. Instead, it is called an unincorporated town.
What is Maryland Line?
Maryland Line is a place where people live and work. It is not a separate city or town with its own mayor or city council. Instead, it is part of the larger Baltimore County. The county government helps manage services for the area.
Where is Maryland Line?
This community sits just south of the Mason–Dixon line. This famous line marks the border between Maryland and Pennsylvania. Maryland Line is located right below York County, Pennsylvania. You can easily reach Maryland Line by taking I-83. Look for exits 36 and 37 to get there.
A Name Change
In the 1800s, this community had a different name. It was known as "New Market." However, there was already another town called New Market in Frederick County, Maryland. To avoid confusion between the two places, the name was changed. This helped people know which "New Market" they were talking about.
