Masahiro Koga (古賀 正紘, Koga Masahiro), born on September 8, 1978, is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender, which means his main job was to stop the other team from scoring goals. His younger brother, Seiji, is also a football player.

Masahiro Koga's Club Journey
Masahiro Koga was born in Okawa, Japan. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 1997. He joined a team called Nagoya Grampus Eight.
He quickly became an important player for Nagoya Grampus Eight. From 1998, he was a regular "center back." This is a key defensive position in football. In 1999, his team, Nagoya Grampus Eight, won a big competition called the Emperor's Cup. This was a great achievement early in his career!
In 2007, Masahiro moved to a new team, Kashiwa Reysol. He continued to play regularly there. However, in 2010, he got an injury that made him lose his regular spot on the team.
Later in 2010, in August, he moved to another club, Júbilo Iwata. He played for them for two seasons. While with Júbilo Iwata, his team won the J.League Cup in 2010.
In 2012, Masahiro Koga joined his local club, Avispa Fukuoka. He played for Avispa Fukuoka until the end of the 2015 season, when he decided to retire from professional football.
Playing for Japan: National Team Career
Masahiro Koga also represented Japan in youth international tournaments.
Japan U-17 Team
In August 1995, Koga was chosen to play for the Japan U-17 national team. He played in the 1995 U-17 World Championship. He played every minute of all three matches for his country in that tournament.
Japan U-20 Team
In June 1997, he was also selected for the Japan U-20 national team. This was for the 1997 World Youth Championship. However, he did not get to play in any matches during that tournament.
