Masataka Imai (born April 2, 1959) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He was known for playing as a goalkeeper. After his playing career, he became a football coach for various teams.
Playing Football in Japan
Masataka Imai was born in Shizuoka, Japan, on April 2, 1959. After finishing his studies at Kokushikan University, he joined the Honda football club in 1982. He played 115 games in the Japan Soccer League as a goalkeeper. He stopped playing professional football in 1990.
Playing Futsal for Japan
In 1989, Masataka Imai also played for the Japan national futsal team. Futsal is a type of indoor football played on a smaller field. He was chosen to represent Japan at the 1989 FIFA Futsal World Championship held in the Netherlands.
