Mata Island is an island in Nunavut, Canada. It is a quiet, uninhabited place, meaning no people live there permanently. You can find Mata Island in Hudson Bay, which is a very large body of saltwater in northeastern Canada.
Mata Island is part of a group of islands called the Belcher Islands. It is located on the eastern side of a waterway known as Omarolluk Sound. Just south of Mata Island, you'll find Karlay Island.
