Matt Moore (born January 8, 1888 – died January 20, 1960) was an actor and director. He was born in Ireland but became an American citizen. Matt Moore acted in over 220 movies between 1912 and 1958.

About Matt Moore's Life and Career
Matt Moore was born in Fordstown Crossroads, Ireland. He had three brothers, Tom, Owen, and Joe. He also had a sister named Mary Moore. In May 1896, they all moved to the United States. They traveled as passengers on a ship called the S.S. Anchoria. They were checked at Ellis Island when they arrived. All of them later became successful in the movie business.
Starting His Acting Journey
Matt Moore began his acting career after his brothers became famous. His first role was as a minister. This was in a silent film called Tangled Relations in 1912. He acted alongside Florence Lawrence and his brother Owen Moore. In 1913, Matt Moore had an important role. It was in a serious movie called Traffic in Souls.
Big Roles in Movies
Moore played Hector MacDonald in a MGM movie. It was a crime and drama film called The Unholy Three in 1925. He starred with Lon Chaney and Mae Busch. This movie was very popular that year. He also played Stanley "Stan" Wentworth in Coquette in 1929. In this movie, he acted with Mary Pickford and Johnny Mack Brown. Coquette was special because it was the first "talkie" (a movie with sound) for Mary Pickford. She used to be married to Matt's brother, Owen.
Later Years in Film
As time went on, Matt Moore took on smaller roles. These were often called "character roles." He continued to work in the movie industry for many years. His last movie appearance was in a horror film. It was a thriller called I Bury the Living in 1958. He played Charlie Bates in this movie. His role was not officially listed in the credits.
