Joining the Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns picked Matthew Dayes in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL draft. He was the 252nd player chosen overall. He signed his first professional contract with the Browns on May 10, 2017.
He worked hard during training camp to earn a spot on the team. The Browns' coach, Hue Jackson, named Dayes as the team's third running back. He played behind experienced players Duke Johnson and Isaiah Crowell.
On September 10, 2017, Dayes played in his first regular season NFL game. He ran for seven yards and caught two passes for nine yards. In his first year, he had a total of 13 rushing yards and 29 receiving yards. The Browns later waived him on September 1, 2018.
