Matthew Dayes grew up in the United States. He went to Cypress Bay High School. While there, he played high school football and showed great skill.
College Football Career at NC State
Dayes played college football at NC State from 2013 to 2016. He had an amazing start in his first college game. He ran for 84 yards and scored three touchdowns against Louisiana Tech.
In his first year (2013), he ran for 252 yards and scored four touchdowns. He also caught 10 passes for 173 yards and one touchdown. In 2014, he showed he could do many things on the field. Professional Football Career
After his successful college career, Matthew Dayes hoped to play in the NFL.
Joining the Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns picked Matthew Dayes in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL draft. He was the 252nd player chosen overall. He signed his first professional contract with the Browns on May 10, 2017.
He worked hard during training camp to earn a spot on the team. The Browns' coach, Hue Jackson, named Dayes as the team's third running back. He played behind experienced players Duke Johnson and Isaiah Crowell.
