The Central Railroad of New Jersey Station is a very old and important railroad station in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. People also call it the Jersey Central Station or Jim Thorpe Station. It was built in 1888 by the Central Railroad of New Jersey. A company called Wilson Brothers & Company from Philadelphia designed it.

This station is now owned by the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway. It is used as a visitor center. You can also take fun train rides, called passenger excursions, from this station. There used to be another train station in Jim Thorpe, on the other side of the river.

About the Jim Thorpe Train Station

The Jim Thorpe Station is a special building. It is made of red brick and has one and a half stories. The building has five main sections, called bays. It was built in a style called Queen Anne. This style often includes interesting shapes and details.

Unique Features of the Building

One cool part of the station is its tall, round corner tower. This tower is three and a half stories high. It has a round roof, which makes it look like a castle turret. This design makes the station stand out.
