Maulvi Sher Ali (born November 24, 1875 – died November 13, 1947) was a very important Ahmadi scholar. He was a close companion of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, who founded the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Sher Ali was known for his deep knowledge and dedication to his faith.

Maulvi Sher Ali's Life Story
His Early Life and Family
Sher Ali was born into a well-off and educated family from the Ranjha Jat tribe. His father was Maulvi Nizam ud Din. Sher Ali finished his B.A. degree in 1897. His daughter, Khadija Begum, later wrote a short book about his life called Seerat Hadrat Maulvi Sher Ali.
His Important Work and Contributions
When Sher Ali heard about Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's teachings, he traveled to Qadian and pledged his loyalty, known as Bay'ah, to him. He dedicated his entire life to serving the Ahmadiyya Community.
Sher Ali was the headmaster of the Talim-ul-Islam High School in Qadian. He was also a director of publications (called Nazir Taleef) for the community. He was very good at religious studies and the Arabic language.
In 1924, he traveled to Europe with Mirza Basheer-ud-Din Mahmood Ahmad, who was the second leader of the Ahmadiyya Community. They took part in a big meeting called the Wembley’s Conference of Living Religions 1924. Sher Ali also wrote articles and responses in the Review of Religions magazine.
His Later Years and Passing
Maulvi Sher Ali passed away on November 13, 1947, in Lahore. He was buried in a special graveyard called the Bahishti Maqbara (which means 'The Heavenly Graveyard') in Rabwah.
