Maurice Edward Johnson, born on January 9, 1967, is a former American football player. He played as a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). Maurice spent four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He also played college football for Temple University. Later, he was part of the Frankfurt Galaxy in the World League of American Football (WLAF).

Maurice Edward Johnson was born in Washington, D.C. on January 9, 1967. He grew up in Washington, D.C., and went to Roosevelt High School. This is where he started his journey in football.
College Football Career
Maurice Johnson played college football for the Temple Owls. He was a key player for them from 1986 to 1989.
Freshman Year (1986)
In his first year, 1986, Maurice caught eight passes. These catches gained his team 42 yards.
Sophomore and Junior Years (1987-1988)
In 1987, he had 14 catches for 151 yards. He also scored one touchdown. The next year, in 1988, he caught 18 passes. These plays added up to 242 yards for his team.
Senior Year Success (1989)
His final year, 1989, was very successful. Maurice caught 31 passes, gaining 290 yards. His great performance earned him a special honor. He was named second-team All-East by the Associated Press.

Joining the Philadelphia Eagles
