Maurice George Morrow, also known as Baron Morrow, was born on September 27, 1948. He is a politician from Northern Ireland. He is a member of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). He has been the Chairman of the DUP since the year 2000.

Early Life and Education
Maurice Morrow grew up in Northern Ireland. His parents were Ernest and Eliza Jane Morrow. He went to school at Ballygawley Primary School. He also attended Drumglass High School and Dungannon Technical College. After finishing his education, he worked as an estate agent.
Political Career
Maurice Morrow began his journey in politics in 1973. He was elected to the Fermanagh District Council. He also served as a councillor for Dungannon Town on the Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council.
Serving in the Northern Ireland Assembly
From 1998, he was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). He represented the area of Fermanagh & South Tyrone. In July 2000, he became the Minister for Social Development. This was part of the Northern Ireland Executive, which is the government of Northern Ireland. He continued to serve as an MLA until 2017.
Joining the House of Lords
In 2006, a big announcement was made. Maurice Morrow would become one of the first three DUP members to join the House of Lords. The House of Lords is part of the UK Parliament. This meant the DUP would have its first representatives there.
On June 7, 2006, he was given the title Baron Morrow. His full title is Baron Morrow, of Clogher Valley in the County of Tyrone. He was officially introduced to the House of Lords on June 27. Other DUP members who joined at the same time included Wallace Browne and Eileen Paisley. David Trimble, a former leader of the Ulster Unionists, also joined the House of Lords then.
Personal Life
Maurice Morrow is married. He has two daughters. He is interested in helping rural areas develop and improve.
