Robert Mervyn Storey (born 4 September 1964), known as Mervyn Storey, is a politician from the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). He currently serves as a local councillor for Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council in the Ballymoney area, a role he started in 2022.

Early Life and Career
Mervyn Storey was born in Armoy, County Antrim on 4 September 1964. His father, Nat, was also involved in politics. He was one of the first members of the Protestant Unionist Party.
Mervyn went to Armoy Primary School and then Ballymoney High School. After leaving school in 1980, he started working in a bacon factory. He worked hard and eventually became a production manager there. In 2000, he left the factory to work in the political office of Ian Paisley in Ballymena.

Mervyn Storey is married to Christine. Together, they have three children.

Mervyn Storey has been involved in public service for many years. He was once a member of the Fire Authority for Northern Ireland.
Working for the Community
Storey was first elected to the Ballymoney local council in 2001. He was re-elected in 2005. He also helps with local plans and partnerships for the community. In 2022, he was elected to the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
He also helped other politicians with their election campaigns. He was a campaign manager for William McCrea in 2000. He also helped Gregory Campbell and Ian Paisley in their elections in 2001. All these campaigns were successful.
Serving in the Assembly
Mervyn Storey was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in the 2003 elections. This meant he became a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). From 2008 to 2014, he was the chairman of the Assembly's Committee for Education. This committee looks at education issues in Northern Ireland. He lost his Assembly seat in the election held on 5 May 2022.
