Robert Mervyn Storey, born on September 4, 1964, is a politician from the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). He is known as Mervyn Storey. Since 2022, he has been a Councillor for the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council in the Ballymoney area.
Before this, Mervyn Storey held important roles in the government of Northern Ireland. He was the Minister for Social Development from 2014 to 2016. After that, he served as the Minister for Finance for a short time in 2016. He was also a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for North Antrim from 2003 until 2022.

About Mervyn Storey
Mervyn Storey was born in Armoy, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. His father, Nat, was involved in politics and worked for a well-known politician named Ian Paisley.
Mervyn went to Armoy Primary School and then Ballymoney High School. After finishing school in 1980, he started working in a bacon factory. He worked his way up to become a production manager there. In 2000, he left that job and began working in Ian Paisley's political office in Ballymena.

Mervyn Storey is married to Christine Storey. They have three children together.
Political Career
Mervyn Storey has been involved in politics for many years. He was a member of the Fire Authority for Northern Ireland. This group helps oversee the fire and rescue services.
He was first elected to the Ballymoney council in 2001 and then again in 2005. He also helps with local and regional planning groups in Northern Ireland.
Working in the Assembly
In 2003, Mervyn Storey was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly. This is where laws are made for Northern Ireland. From 2008 to 2014, he was in charge of the Assembly's Committee for Education. This committee looks at all matters related to schools and learning.
He lost his seat in the Assembly in the election held on May 5, 2022. This meant he was no longer an MLA.
