About Max Brallier
Max Brallier was born in Belmont, Massachusetts. This was on September 8, 1983. When he was four years old, his family moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1991, he moved to Reading, Massachusetts. There, he went to Joshua Eaton Elementary School.
Max's School Days
He later attended Parker Middle School. This school actually inspired the middle school in his The Last Kids on Earth series. Max graduated from Reading Memorial High School in 2001. He then went to Ithaca College. He earned a degree in film from there in 2005.
Max's Favorite Books
As a child, Max enjoyed books by David Macaulay. He also liked Where's Waldo books. His all-time favorite book is Bart Simpson's Guide to Life. Max has a daughter named Lila with his wife, Alyse.
Max Brallier's Career
Before becoming a full-time author, Max Brallier worked in marketing. He was at St. Martin's Press. He also worked as a game designer. This was for the online virtual world called Poptropica.
How Max Started Writing
Max says he knew he wanted to be a writer after his first book was published. This book was for adults and came out in 2007. It was called Reasons to Smoke. However, in other interviews, he mentioned wanting to write stories since he was 14.
Writing for Kids
In 2014, Max started writing children's books. He used the pen name Jack Chabert. His first series under this name was Eerie Elementary. He also wrote a graphic novel called Poptropica: Mystery of the Map in 2016. Max has also written books under his own name. These include books for LEGO, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe.
Popular Book Series
In 2015, Max published the first book in his Galactic Hot Dogs series. That same year, he also released the first book in The Last Kids on Earth series. This series quickly became very popular. In 2019, he helped write and produce a movie called VFW for Fangoria.
