Reading Memorial High School (RMHS) is a public high school in Reading, Massachusetts. It is the only public high school for students in grades 9 through 12 in the town. The school is part of the Reading Public Schools district.

RMHS welcomes students from Reading's Parker and Coolidge Middle Schools. A big project to renovate and build new parts of the school finished before the 2007-08 school year. The school's sports teams are called the Rockets. They compete in the Middlesex League. The school's leaders include Principal Jessica Callanan and Vice Principals Jessica Theriault and Kathleen Buckley.

Baseball Achievements

In the spring of 1996, the Reading Memorial Boys Varsity Baseball team won their first State Championship. This was a big win for the school's baseball program.

Girls Basketball Success

The Reading Memorial High School Girls Basketball team had an amazing year in 2012. They became the Division II Massachusetts State Champions. The team had a perfect season, winning all 25 of their games. They won the championship game on March 17, 2012. This was the first state championship ever for Reading Memorial High School in basketball. The next year, they almost won again but lost in overtime.

Boys Hockey Victories

On March 16, 2014, the Rockets' boys varsity hockey team won the Division I State Championship. They defeated Braintree 4-1. This was their first state championship since they won the Super 8 Championship in 2008.

Girls Hockey Triumphs

The Reading girls varsity hockey team also won a Division I State Championship. This happened on March 15, 2015. They beat Acton-Boxborough Regional High School 3-0. It was the first state championship in the history of the girls' hockey program.

Football Team Highlights

On November 11, 2016, Reading Memorial's varsity football team reached their playoff Super Bowl for the second year in a row. They had beaten Lincoln Sudbury 21-7. However, they lost the Super Bowl game to King Philip High School 21-18. This was their second straight loss in an MIAA Super Bowl. The Rockets' football team has won two Super Bowls since 2003, in 2009 and 2012. They also won Super Bowls in 1993, 1995, 1996, and 1998.

Girls Swim Team Excellence

In the fall of 2016, the Reading High School Varsity Girls Swim Team won two big titles. They won the Middlesex League Championship and the Division 2 State Championship. The Girls Varsity swim team continued their success. They won both the League and Division 2 State Championships again in 2017 and 2018.

Boys Lacrosse Championship

On June 23, 2018, the Rockets' boys varsity lacrosse team made history. They won the MIAA Division 2 State Championship. They defeated Concord-Carlisle High School 13-9. This game was played at Boston University's Nickerson Field. It was the first time the program had reached a state final and won a championship.
