Maya Ann Brady-Timmons, born on June 1, 2001, is a talented American professional softball player. She plays for the Talons team in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League. Before becoming a pro, Maya played college softball for the UCLA Bruins. Even as a freshman in 2020, she was recognized as the Softball America Freshman of the Year.

Maya's High School Softball Journey
Maya Brady went to Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, California. There, she played as a middle infielder. She helped her team win three Marmonte League championships. Maya was also named the league's Most Valuable Player twice.
During her final year, she had an amazing batting average of .558. She hit 12 home runs and brought in 32 runs batted in (RBI). Because of her great performance, she was named Marmonte League MVP. She also received awards like All-CIF Southern section and Ventura County Star All-County Softball Player of the Year. Experts like FloSoftball and Softball America ranked her as the second-best recruit in the country.
Maya's College Softball Career at UCLA
Maya Brady started her college softball journey with the UCLA Bruins in 2020. In her very first week, she had a fantastic start. She got 9 hits out of 18 tries, hit four home runs, and had nine RBI. She also scored nine runs. This earned her the Pac-12 Freshman and Player of the Week awards.
Freshman Year Success (2020)
During her freshman year, Maya finished with a .356 batting average. She led her team with seven home runs. She also tied for first with 28 RBI. Maya was named Softball America Freshman of the Year for her outstanding performance. The season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Redshirt Freshman Year (2021)
In 2021, Maya continued to shine. She had a .333 batting average and stole six bases. She hit 13 home runs and had 36 RBI. For her excellent play, she was named to the first team All-Pac-12. She also made the Pac-12 All-Freshman team and was a first team All-American.
Record-Breaking Season (2023)
The 2023 season started with Maya setting a new UCLA record. She got 11 hits in a row! This broke the old record of 10 hits. She was named the NFCA National Player of the Week. She finished the regular season with a .456 batting average. She also hit 16 home runs and had 56 RBIs. Maya led her conference in batting average, hits, and total bases. She was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year.
Senior Year Achievements (2024)
In her senior year in 2024, Maya led UCLA in many ways. She had 71 hits, 68 RBI, and 59 runs scored. She also hit 17 home runs. For the second year in a row, she led the Pac-12 Conference in extra-base hits and RBI. After the season, she was again named the Pac-12 Player of the Year. She was also a top-ten finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award. Maya finished her college career as one of UCLA's top players ever. She ranks second in school history for home runs and RBI.
Professional Softball Career
On January 29, 2025, Maya Brady was chosen in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League draft. She was the 19th player picked overall by the Talons team. Besides playing in the U.S., Maya also plays for the Toyota Red Terriers. This team is part of the Japan Diamond Softball League.
International Play
Maya Brady has also played for her country. She represented the United States at the 2024 Women's Softball World Cup. Her team won a silver medal in this big international competition.
Maya's Family Life
Maya's parents are Maureen Brady and Brian Timmons. Her mother, Maureen, was also a great softball player. She was an All-American pitcher at Fresno State. Maya is also the niece of famous former American football player Tom Brady. Her uncle by marriage is former Major League Baseball player Kevin Youkilis.
