Mayanti's love for sports broadcasting began when she was a student. She studied in the United States. There, she played on her college football team. She even got a chance to be a guest anchor for a FIFA beach football show.
This experience led her to a big opportunity. She was offered a job as a host and producer for a show called Football Cafe on Zee Sports. Mayanti then worked on many football shows for the Zee network. She gave comments and did interviews before, during, and after matches. She also anchored Zee Sports' coverage of the Nehru Cup football tournament in New Delhi. Later, she worked as an anchor for the Indian Cricket League.

Mayanti is the daughter of Lt. Gen. Sanjiv Langer and Preminda Langer. Her father was an officer in the Indian army. In 2012, Mayanti married Stuart Binny. He is a famous Indian cricketer. Their first child, a boy, was born in September 2020.
