History of Mays Chapel
Mays Chapel Village started to be built in the 1970s. Before that, the land was a big farm called Mayfair. You can still see the old stone farmhouse from 1812 overlooking Greenpoint Road.
This land was first owned by a person named Thomas Cockey Deye. Later, it belonged to Frederick Price and Penelope Deye Owings Price. The area was named after a church that was nearby in the mid-1800s.
