McAdams is a small, unincorporated community located in Attala County, Mississippi, in the United States. An unincorporated community means it's a place with a shared identity but without its own local government.
You can find McAdams right on Mississippi Highway 12. It's about 4 miles (6.4 km) east of a town called Sallis. If you head west, it's about 6 miles (9.7 km) from Kosciusko.
A Look Back in Time
Long ago, McAdams was an important stop on a branch of the old Illinois Central Railroad. Railroads were super important for travel and moving goods back then!
In the past, McAdams was a busy little hub. It had a general store where people could buy all sorts of things. There was also a cotton gin, which helped separate cotton fibers from their seeds. A saw mill was also present, cutting wood for building.
The community even got its own post office in 1891. This made it much easier for people to send and receive letters and packages.
