A Look Back in Time

Long ago, McAdams was an important stop on a branch of the old Illinois Central Railroad. Railroads were super important for travel and moving goods back then!

In the past, McAdams was a busy little hub. It had a general store where people could buy all sorts of things. There was also a cotton gin, which helped separate cotton fibers from their seeds. A saw mill was also present, cutting wood for building.

The community even got its own post office in 1891. This made it much easier for people to send and receive letters and packages.
