History of McHenry
This area was first called Hamelton. In 1874, its name was changed to McHenry. This was done to honor Henry D. McHenry. He was a Congressman from Kentucky.

McHenry is located in Ohio County, Kentucky. You can find it along U.S. Route 62. The city is southwest of Beaver Dam. It is also northeast of Central City.
