McKnightstown is a small place in Pennsylvania, United States. It is located in Adams County, within Franklin Township. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is an area that the government counts for population, but it does not have its own local government like a city or town. McKnightstown used to be part of a larger CDP called Cashtown-McKnightstown. However, for the 2010 census, it was made into its own separate CDP.

History of McKnightstown
A famous person named Cheston Lee Eshelman was born in McKnightstown. He later became the founder of the Eshelman manufacturing company.
In 1919, a group of army vehicles traveled through the town. This group was called the 1919 Motor Transport Corps convoy. They were driving on a very important road known as the Lincoln Highway. This highway was one of the first roads that went all the way across the United States. Later, in 1948 and 1949, a new highway was built that went around McKnightstown. This meant the old Lincoln Highway through the town became less busy.
