Meet Me in St. Louis is a famous musical movie from 1944. It was made by MGM. The film tells the story of the Smith family. They live in St. Louis, Missouri around 1904. This was when the big World's Fair was happening there. The movie stars Judy Garland and Margaret O'Brien. Judy Garland sings two very popular songs in the movie: "The Trolley Song" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas".
The movie's story comes from a series of short stories. These were written by Sally Benson. They first appeared in The New Yorker magazine. Later, they were put together into a novel called 5135 Kensington.
The movie was directed by Vincente Minnelli. He met Judy Garland while making the movie. They later got married. Many movie critics really liked the film.
