Megumi Ogata (born June 6, 1965) is a famous Japanese actress and singer. She is known for her amazing voice work in many popular anime shows and movies. As a singer, she uses the name em:óu.
Megumi Ogata has voiced many characters that you might know. She is the voice of Shinji Ikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion. She also voiced Yugi Mutou and Dark Yugi in the early Yu-Gi-Oh! TV series. Other big roles include Makoto Naegi and Nagito Komaeda in the Danganronpa series. She also voiced Kurama in YuYu Hakusho and Sailor Uranus in the Sailor Moon series.

Early Life and Voice Acting Career
Megumi Ogata went to Tokai University but decided to leave because it wasn't what she wanted to do. She started her career as an actress in musicals. She even took classes with other famous voice actresses like Rumi Kasahara.
Because of her unique, deep voice, she often plays young men or boys. She also voices strong, independent female characters, sometimes called "tomboyish." A great example is Sailor Uranus from Sailor Moon. Fans sometimes call her "Aniki," which means "Big Brother" in Japanese. She got married for the second time on April 1, 2004.
