Mehreen Jabbar (Urdu: مﮩرين جبار ) was born on December 29, 1971. She is a talented Pakistani film and television director and producer. She lives and works in New York City. Mehreen is the daughter of Javed Jabbar, a well-known media personality in Pakistan. Her aunt, Beo Zafar, is also a famous actress. Mehreen Jabbar has been working in the film and TV industry since 1994. She is known for directing many popular TV shows. Her TV series Doraha (2008) won her a Lux Style Award for Best TV Director.

Early Life and Education
Mehreen Jabbar was born in Karachi, Pakistan. She grew up surrounded by the world of show business. Her father, Javed Jabbar, was a filmmaker and worked in advertising. He was also a former Pakistani senator and a government minister.
After finishing her first degree at Saint Joseph's College in Karachi, Mehreen went to the United States. She studied film at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). In 1993, she earned a certificate in Film, Television, and Video.
After her studies, she returned to Pakistan. There, she started directing and producing TV shows and series. She created these under her company, TasVeer Productions. Many of her early works were praised by critics in Pakistan.

Mehreen Jabbar is a Pakistani-American director with over 25 years of experience. She has directed and produced many strong and realistic films and TV series. Her work has been very successful in Pakistan and South Asia. She has won awards and is popular with audiences.
She has also made several short films. These films have been shown at film festivals around the world. Some of her award-winning short films and TV dramas include Marhoom Colonel Ki Betiyaan, Beauty Parlor, Doraha, and Daam.
Directing Feature Films
In 2008, Mehreen directed her first full-length movie, Ramchand Pakistani. She received a special grant to make this film. The movie was first shown at the Tribeca Film Festival. It then traveled to many other film festivals.
Ramchand Pakistani was released in cinemas in Pakistan, India, and the United Kingdom in 2008 and 2009. It received great reviews from critics and audiences. The film won the 'Fipresci Prize' from the International Federation of Film Critics. It also won the 'Audience Award' at the Fribourg Film Festival in Switzerland. The film received an 'Honorable Mention' at the 13th Annual Satyajit Ray Award at the London Film Festival. In 2010, Mehreen was invited to show her film at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Her second feature film was Dobara Phir Se. This movie was filmed in New York and Karachi. It was released in cinemas in Pakistan, the UK, USA, and the UAE in December 2016.
In 2011, Mehreen was invited to the Maisha Film Lab in Uganda. This is a special training program for filmmakers started by director Mira Nair. Mehreen worked there as a directing mentor. She has won many awards for her work. She has also been a judge at many film festivals, both in Pakistan and internationally.
In 2020, Mehreen Jabbar directed the web drama series Ek Jhoothi Love Story. This series was released on ZEE5 in October 2020.
