Melinda Czink, born on October 22, 1982, is a former professional tennis player from Hungary. She played tennis for many years, becoming a well-known athlete. On September 21, 2009, she reached her highest singles ranking, becoming world No. 37.
During her career, Czink played in two major WTA Tour singles finals. In 2005, she played against Ana Ivanovic in Canberra. She won her first and only WTA Tour title in 2009. This happened when she beat Lucie Šafářová in Quebec City. She also won many titles on the ITF Circuit, including 20 in singles and 9 in doubles.

Starting Her Career: 2000–2008
Melinda Czink began her professional tennis journey in 2000. Her first tournament was in Budapest, where she played as a special entry. By 2003, she had worked hard and entered the top 100 players in the world.
During these early years, Czink won several singles and doubles titles. These wins were on the ITF Circuit, which is a series of tournaments for professional tennis players. In 2005, she made it to her first WTA Tour singles final. This was at the Canberra International in Australia. Even though she lost to Ana Ivanovic in that final, it was a big step in her career.
Reaching the Top: 2009
The year 2009 was a very important one for Melinda Czink. She broke into the top 50 players in the world. This showed how much her skills had improved.
Her biggest achievement that year was winning her first WTA title. This happened at the Quebec City tournament. As the fifth-seeded player, she played very well. She defeated Aleksandra Wozniak in the semifinal match. Then, in the final, she beat Lucie Šafářová to win the championship. She also reached one semifinal and four quarterfinals in other tournaments that season.
Later Years: 2010–2014
Melinda continued to play in many tournaments after her big win in 2009. In 2010, she started the year at the Brisbane International in Australia. She reached the quarterfinals there, where she lost to Justine Henin. She also made it to the doubles final at the same event with her partner, Arantxa Parra Santonja.
In 2011, Czink had a memorable moment at Wimbledon. She was ranked much lower than her opponent, tenth seed Samantha Stosur. However, Czink played an amazing match and won, which was the biggest victory of her career. She then won another match before losing in the third round.
She continued to play in 2012, competing in tournaments like the Brisbane International and the Sydney International. She also played in the Mexican Open and the Miami Open. At the French Open, she won her first-round match before being defeated in the next round. Melinda Czink retired from professional tennis in 2014.
