Melissa Rivers (born Melissa Warburg Rosenberg on January 20, 1968) is an American television host and actress. She is the only child of the famous comedian Joan Rivers and producer Edgar Rosenberg.

Growing Up and Education
Melissa Rivers was born in New York City on January 20, 1968. She is the daughter of comedian Joan Rivers and producer Edgar Rosenberg. Melissa spent most of her childhood in Los Angeles, California.
She went to several schools, including the John Thomas Dye School and The Buckley School. Melissa started dancing when she was 8 years old. By age 12, she was taking private dance lessons regularly.
In 1989, Melissa graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned a degree in history. In 1990, she decided to use her mother's stage name, becoming known as Melissa Rivers.
Melissa's Career in TV and Film
Melissa Rivers has had many roles as an actress. She appeared in popular TV shows like Beverly Hills 90210 and Silk Stalkings. She was also in the TV movie Men in White in 1998.
In 1999, she appeared in the comedy film The Big Tease. Melissa and her mother, Joan Rivers, played themselves in a 1994 TV movie. It was called Tears and Laughter: The Joan and Melissa Rivers Story.
Hosting and Producing Shows
In the early 1990s, Melissa began interviewing celebrities. She worked on the red carpet before big awards shows. Melissa has hosted many events for the E! Network.
She also produced two popular specials for E!: Oh Baby! Melissa’s Guide to Pregnancy and Oh Toddler! Surviving the Early Years. These shows aired in 2002.
Melissa and her mother, Joan, were famous for their red carpet fashion interviews. In 2003, they moved to the TV Guide Channel. Melissa also appeared on the reality show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.
Working with Joan Rivers
In 2013, Melissa helped create and produce In Bed with Joan. This was a web series on YouTube. In the show, Joan Rivers interviewed celebrities from her bed. Melissa would ask questions at the end of each episode.
Many famous people were guests, including Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne. YouTubers like Jenna Mourey (Jenna "Marbles") also appeared. In 2013, Melissa and Joan were honored in New York City. A special double-decker tour bus was named after them by the Ride of Fame.
In 2015, Melissa became a co-host on the show Fashion Police.
Helping Others: Philanthropy
Melissa Rivers has used her fame to help many charities. In 2003, she appeared in an ad for PETA. The ad encouraged people to choose fake fur to protect animals.
She raised $100,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This was from her appearance on the ABC show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Live in 2006.
In 2008, Melissa and her mother played on Celebrity Family Feud. They won $50,000 for their charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Melissa also appeared on the reality show Celebrity Apprentice. She played for the Lili Claire Foundation. Her mother, Joan, also competed on that season and eventually won.
Melissa raised $22,250 on a special celebrity episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. She played to raise money for research into Alzheimer's disease.
Melissa's Personal Life
Melissa Rivers married horse trainer John Endicott in December 1998. Their wedding took place at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. They divorced in 2003.
Melissa has one son from that marriage, Edgar Cooper Endicott, born in 2000. Edgar appeared with Melissa and her mother on the reality show Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?.
After her mother's passing in 2014, Melissa sought answers about the medical care Joan received.
From 2015 to 2021, Melissa was in a relationship with talent agent Mark Rousso. In 2022, she met attorney Steve Mitchel. They became engaged in October 2023.
In January 2025, Melissa's home was destroyed in the Palisades Fire.
