Why the Name Mesopotamia?
This township gets its name from the famous ancient region of Mesopotamia. That ancient land was located between two rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates, in what is now Iraq. Mesopotamia Township in Ohio is the only township in the entire state with this unique name.
