Mia's Big Adventure Collection is a fun series of computer games made by Kutoka Interactive since 1998. These games help kids in elementary school learn different subjects while having an adventure. The series includes five main games, each focusing on a different school subject.

How to Play Mia's Adventures

In each Mia game, you join Mia on an exciting quest. As you play, you'll find many educational activities. You can choose how hard the game is at the start. This changes how challenging the questions will be. If you want, you can skip the adventure and go straight to a menu of all the learning activities. When you play, Mia follows your mouse cursor. She reacts to things you click on in the game world.

How the Games Were Made

Most of the Mia games were created using a special computer program called Director. This program helps put together different parts like pictures and sounds. The 3D animations you see in the games were made with other software like Softimage 3D. These animations were then turned into smaller images called sprites for the game. The animated movie clips, called cinematics, were also made with Softimage and saved as QuickTime videos.

Mia TV Series

The Mia games became so popular that a TV series was announced in 2010 by Radio Canada. It was produced by Sardine Productions. After some delays, the TV show was released in 2014 in both French and English. Toonavision started showing the series in 2019.

Awards and Recognition

Besides the awards each game won, the entire Mia's Big Adventure Collection received a special award. It won a United Nations World Summit Award in 2003. This award recognizes great digital content from around the world.
