The Story of Toon-A-Vision
How Toon-A-Vision Started
Atlantic Digital Networks wanted to create a new TV channel. In 2014, they got permission from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). The CRTC is like Canada's TV and radio rule-maker. This new channel was first called "Atlantic Cartoon."
Launching the Channel
The channel, which became Toon-A-Vision, officially started on June 19, 2018. It first appeared on Eastlink cable systems across Canada. The shows were available in high definition (HDTV), which means they looked very clear. Huminah Huminah Animation helped develop the channel.
Becoming a Full Channel
By July 2019, Toon-A-Vision had many viewers. Because of this, Atlantic Digital Networks asked the CRTC for a "full license." This meant the channel could operate with more freedom. The CRTC approved this full license on September 1, 2020.
Where You Can Watch Toon-A-Vision
More TV providers started carrying Toon-A-Vision. On December 5, 2019, it became available on Bell Satellite TV and Bell Fibe. Then, on April 22, 2020, Cogeco also added the channel to its lineup. This made it easier for more kids across Canada to watch Toon-A-Vision.
