Ricky Sprocket: Showbiz Boy is a fun animated TV show from Canada and the United States. It first aired as a special preview on August 31, 2007. The regular episodes started on September 8, 2007. The show is about a super famous child movie star named Ricky Sprocket. Even though he's a big star, Ricky is just a normal kid who loves hanging out with his friends.

About Ricky's World

Ricky Sprocket is the biggest child movie star in the world! He works for a studio called Wishworks. This studio is a bit like a famous real-life movie studio. His boss is Mr. Louie Fischburger. Ricky gets to star in amazing movies and lives in a huge mansion. Sometimes, he even helps actor patients with pretend brain surgeries!

But even with all that fame, Ricky is a regular kid. He doesn't let being a celebrity change him. He loves spending time with his friends. Ricky also has a rival, a spoiled child star named Kitten Kaboodle. Just like any kid, Ricky has chores and homework to do. He even has to battle animatronic props sometimes!

Meet the Characters

  • Ricky Sprocket (voiced by Jillian Michaels) – Ricky is the world's most famous child movie star. He is ten years old and has everything a kid could wish for. But deep down, he's still a normal kid with everyday problems. He loves making movies, but he loves hanging out with his friends just as much. One minute he's fighting aliens on set, the next he's doing homework.
  • Bunny Sprocket (voiced by Jayne Eastwood) – Bunny is Ricky's mom. She is very down-to-earth and doesn't care much about showbiz. She is a loving and caring mother. Bunny sees Ricky as a normal boy. She cares more about his homework and chores than his movie star life. She used to be a trapeze artist in high school.
  • Leonard Sprocket (voiced by Jeff Lumby) – Leonard is Ricky's dad. He is a bit silly but always means well. He is a dedicated father, but not very fancy. Even though his son is famous, Leonard still works in a sausage factory. He often shares life lessons with Ricky using stories about sausages. Ricky's dad is kind but not always the smartest. This can sometimes make Ricky feel a little embarrassed. He loves his job at Wishworks Sausages.
  • Ethel Sprocket (voiced by Kathleen Barr) – Ethel is Ricky's younger sister. While Ricky is charming and fun, Ethel is quite the opposite. She is smart and loves to plan things. If she can get Ricky into trouble, she's happy. She doesn't care about her "stupid brother's" movie business. But sometimes, Ricky does need Ethel's help.
  • Benny Newford (voiced by Tabitha St. Germain) – Benny is Ricky's biggest fan and best friend. He often doesn't understand what Morris is talking about. Benny isn't the sharpest kid, but he makes up for it with his excitement and loyalty to Ricky. He is also colorblind.
  • Morris Moony (voiced by Ashleigh Ball) – Morris Moony is Ricky's super smart friend. He loves science and biology and is great at all school subjects. However, he is really bad at art, drama, and gym. He is good at holding ropes and playing video games. Morris always looks at things in a technical way. He often checks facts on his laptop, which he seems to carry everywhere.
  • Jamal Pennycook (voiced by Dorla Bell) – Jamal is another one of Ricky's friends. He has a bit of an attitude, but he's still a regular kid. He's a little more street-smart than Benny and Morris. Jamal is always ready for action and is known as the cool kid.
  • Alice Applewood (voiced by Chiara Zanni) – Alice is sweet and clever. She often has good ideas when there's a problem to solve. She's a bit goofy and more practical than Morris in how she solves problems. She is seen less often than Ricky's other friends.
  • Kitten Kaboodle (voiced by Andrea Libman) – Kitten is another child actor. She often works on the same projects as Ricky. She is very smart for her age, competitive, demanding, and super jealous of Ricky's success. She can drive everyone crazy. This might be because her mom is her very bossy agent. Kitten's dad is very timid. Kitten loves to see Ricky fail. But when they were lost on a deserted island, she showed that she might actually have feelings for Ricky.
  • Mr. Louie Fischburger (voiced by Scott McNeil) – Mr. Fischburger is Ricky’s boss. He is the head of Wishworks Studios, where Ricky works. He is a small man with a loud voice. He is an old-school Hollywood boss, and movies are his whole life. He treats Ricky like his own son. In fact, he treats Ricky even better than his own son because Ricky helps pay the bills!
  • Wolf Wolinski (voiced by Jamie Watson) – Wolf is Ricky's regular director at Wishworks. He is very driven and passionate. He expects the best from Ricky. But he also gets angry easily, which makes working with Ricky and Kitten a challenge for him. He can seem obsessed and wild, but sometimes creative geniuses act that way.
  • Vanessa Stimlock (voiced by Tabitha St. Germain) – Vanessa is a reporter for Showbiz Buzz Entertainment. If there's a crowd of reporters, she's usually leading it. Vanessa reports on all things showbiz. She seems to be especially assigned to cover Ricky Sprocket.
