What is Best Ed About?
This show follows two animal friends, Ed the dog and Buddy the squirrel. They live in a town called Swellville in Canada. Their adventures often lead them to meet other characters.
Ed is liked by everyone and is very lucky. But Buddy is often unlucky and people don't seem to like him as much.
Meet the Characters!
Main Characters
- Ed (voiced by Sean Cullen) – Ed is a yellow dog who loves to help. He's very excited about everything, but sometimes he's a bit silly. He has many famous sayings like 'Yee!' and 'I'm here to help!' He also says 'Sacagawea!' and 'Krakatoa!'
Ed sometimes says 'sh' instead of 's' because of how he talks. He wears 'happy sandals' and loves watching The Mighty Measel Moles, which is a funny show like Star Trek. Buddy doesn't like either of these things! Ed is good at many skills. Everyone in the neighborhood likes him, and he thinks Buddy is his very best friend.
- Buddy AKA Doug (voiced by Pat McKenna) – Buddy is an orange squirrel. He is usually more sensible and smarter than Ed. He often gets into trouble because of Ed's silly ideas or because other characters ignore him.
Buddy only has a happy ending in a few episodes. Still, he truly sees Ed as a good friend. Most other characters don't like Buddy. He loves to eat nuts. He even has a car with a giant acorn on top! Buddy used to be part of a club for a nerdy role-playing game called Battle Buddies. His favorite sayings are "Oh no, please, no!" and 'It's Doug, actually'.
Other Characters You'll See
- Mr. Thursty (Thurston Plumtickler III) (voiced by Kedar Brown) – He is a big, brown dog. Mr. Thursty is often worried and can be a bit grumpy. His friend is Eugene. He is very jealous of Buddy.
- Miss Fluffé (voiced by Carolyn Scott) – A yellow hamster. Miss Fluffé sometimes acts like a fortune teller. She has a crush on Ed.
- The Kitten Twins (Betsy voiced by Sarah Commisso, Buster voiced by Tessa Marshall) – These are pink cats. Betsy and Buster look sweet and innocent, but they can be the naughtiest! They often speak at the same time and giggle a lot. They are very rich because they have important jobs testing mittens. They ride unicycles, which you can see in "Best Ed The Movie."
- Dr. Quacken (voiced by Jamie Watson) – A tall green duck who wears glasses and a white jacket. He is Ed and Buddy's doctor. He likes to make jokes about "duck bills" when he gives Buddy the bill for his visits. He loves playing golf.
- Eugene Tuttle – A short, green and brown turtle. Mr. Thursty often picks on Eugene. He lives in a house shaped like a shell, surrounded by water. He is the only reptile in the neighborhood. He doesn't appear as often as others. He is shy and nervous. He has never been mean to Buddy.
- Heiny (voiced by Damon Papadopoulos) – A Scottish Terrier dog who wears a kilt. He has a Scottish accent and works as a crossing guard. Heiny seems to get angry easily and often yells.
- Whithey, Blakie and Red – These are three squirrel brothers who went to college with Buddy. They host yearly Battle Buddy Weekends with Buddy.
