Miani is a town located in the Sargodha District of Punjab, Pakistan. It is part of the Bhera Tehsil area.

Miani's Past: A Look at Its History

Before Pakistan became a country, Miani was home to many different groups of people. These included Hindus and Sikhs.

When India and Pakistan separated in 1947, many families moved. This event is known as the partition of India. Sikhs and Hindus who lived in Miani moved to India. In their place, Muslims who had moved from Indian Punjab came to live in Miani. This was a big change for everyone living there.

Miani is about 70 kilometers (about 43 miles) away from Sargodha city. It is located right next to the River Jhelum. The town is also about 16 kilometers (about 10 miles) from the Bhera Motorway Interchange, which is a major road connection.

One of the most interesting places near Miani is the Khewra Salt Mine. This mine is very famous because it is Pakistan's largest salt mine. It is also the second-largest salt mine in the entire world. Plus, it is the oldest salt mine in the world!
